NCB debunk rumours of a Bollywood drugs list of after false names emerge
Rumours of a Bollywood blacklist of drug users emerged this morning
Rumours have emerged that Rhea Chakraborty gave the NCB the names of 15 Bollywood celebrities who have been involved in drugs, however the NCB have now debunked these claims.
The actress underwent a three day long questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau in relation to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput before her arrest on September 8th.
The deputy director of the NCB, KPS Malhotra has denied the rumours of a Bollywood drugs list in a statement saying "We have not prepared any Bollywood list. The list earlier prepared was of peddlers and traffickers. It’s getting confused with Bollywood.".
Chakraborty is said to have given a long written statement to the NCB about her knowledge of those involved with illegal drugs. This information was confused by various media sources, and popular Bollywood names such as Sara Ali Khan, Simone Khambatta and Rakul Preet got caught in the rumours. There is no evidence to suggest they have any involvement in this case.
Rhea’s brother, Showik Chakraborty was recently questioned by the NCB after suspected involvement with drugs. New information has now revealed that Showik and Sushant’s house helper Dipesh Sawnt used a courier service to deliver drugs from Sushant’s property to Rhea Chakraborty a month before Sushant’s death.
The courier has also confirmed details of delivering a package to Showik Chakraborty from Dipesh Shawant during the coronavirus lockdown. The package allegedly contained 500g worth of drugs. Showik Chakbraborty was arrested by the NCB over these actions.
