Tamannaah Bhatia — who appeared as a rebellious warrior in the blockbuster action film Baahubali — will be joining Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Bole Chudiyan, as the female lead. She replaces actress Mouni Roy, who was dropped from the film in June, allegedly due to unprofessional behaviour. The film’s producer, Rajesh Bhatia, had issued a statement about Mouni’s exit, saying, "From the time we have signed her, she and her agency have been highly unprofessional and irresponsible, even after signing the MoU and paying her. Even for the final narration held two days back, she walked in at 5.30 pm for a 3 pm narration, embarrassing the producers, director and actor."
The makers of the film then began the hunt for another leading lady and have quickly roped in Tamannaah for this film, which will be the directorial debut of Shamas Nawab Siddiqui, Nawaz's brother, in Bollywood.
The 29-year old actress has already started preparing for her role and said she was excited to be part of the film and playing this character:
“The script fits in beautifully with the narrative. This will be the very first time I will be attempting such a multi-layered character in a mainstream Bollywood film. What really caught my attention was the storyline of the film which is based on a prevalent issue that grips society at large even today. My character is authentic and quite contrary to what I am in reality. It’s something I will be experimenting for the very first time,” she said.
On Tamannaah’s entry into the film, Nawaz said in a statement that he was happy and satisfied with the casting and looking forward to working with her as she was the correct and perfect choice for the role. Director Shamas Siddiqui also added that Tamannaah had that spark in her eyes and dedication which he was looking for in his heroine. Shooting for Bole Chudiyan will commence in Rajasthan in July and it will be a start-to-finish 45-day schedule. The film will be released next year but no release date has been confirmed yet.
