Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the finest actors the industry has to offer. His performance in Gangs of Wasseypur, Badlapur, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and many others have been appreciated by both, film critics and fans. However, with Motichoor Chaknachoor, he will be seen in a very different avatar. Speaking of the film, Nawaz had earlier said that he was really excited for Motichoor Chaknachoor to release because he always wanted to work on a film that his daughter could watch. But it looks like his daughter, Shora Siddiqui might have to wait a little longer.
Earlier, Motichoor Chaknachoor was slated to release alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria’s Marjaavan but that’s not happening anymore. According to Deccan Chronicle, a civil court in Bihar has halted the release of Motichoor Chaknachoor as one of the local distributors has claimed the rights to the film. He has also provided relevant documents to support his claim. Moreover, there are also reasons stating that the delay behind the release is because of fallout between the producer of the film, Rajesh Bhatia and the crew which includes the director of Motichoor Chaknachoor, Debamitra Hasan. Reports also suggested that Debamitra had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court which had ordered a stay on the release of its trailer on the basis of non-payment of dues. However, the stay was lifted by the court.
Earlier it was also reported by yet another publication called SpotboyE that some of the crew members of Motichoor Chaknachoor, including the director, art director, editor and choreographer had gotten into a very intense argument with the producer. The report also mentioned that the lead actress of the film, Athiya Shetty had not received her complete payment for the film either. Motichoor Chaknachoor was earlier supposed to hit screens on November 15, however, after the recent allegations, no new announcements of the film’s release have been made yet.
