Nargis Fakhri Reveals She Refused to Pose for a Famous Magazine. Here’s Why
Nargis Fakhri started her Bollywood career with Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar opposite Ranbir Kapoor, however, before acting, Nargis was a part of the modelling industry
Much like star kids, Bollywood is also home to some celebrities who ventured into acting from modeling. Likewise, one such celebrity is Nargis Fakhri. Nargis made her Bollywood debut with Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She went on to star in several other films such as Madras Café, Azhar and Housefull 3 to name a few. Recently, she was also interviewed by former adult star, Brittni De La Mora, wherein Nargis shared that she had gotten an offer to pose for Playboy magazine, but she refused.
Nargis shared, “When I was modeling, there was this college edition Playboy magazine thing. My agent said they are asking for girls, they have chosen to see you if you would want to do something like that. I was like, Playboy is so huge and the money was so much! But I said no thanks, I’m good. I was really happy to work in Bollywood because they don’t do such bold scenes. That made me so happy, because I am so not into getting naked in front of a camera. I can’t do. Any overly sexual or passionate scene would be difficult for me because even though it is acting and what you are supposed to do, I had reservations about that.”
The model turned actress also shed light on how she lost some projects, because she did not want to compromise on her values. Nargis continued, “I always knew that I am not going to be so hungry for fame that I am going to pose naked or get intimate with a director. I have lost jobs because I didn’t do certain things and that was heartbreaking because I am trying to live in a place where I have high standards and boundaries, and it sucks! And even though I got kicked out more than once, I reassured myself that people like her will win in their own way.”
