Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, The Rock Dwayne Johnson, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Shazam! actor Zachary Levi are the latest names to be added to Dubai’s new Walk of Fame. The Dubai Stars, which previously announced the inclusion of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, international star Jackie Chan and K-Pop bands BTS and Exo, unveiled the latest list of celebrities to join the city’s new landmark project, based in Downtown Dubai. The list of celebrities, selected so far, also includes Lebanese designer Ellie Saab, Chinese actress Ni Ni, Lebanese singer Fayrouz and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.
Nancy Ajram is a top Lebanese award-winning singer and celebrity on the Dubai stage. She is popular for many songs like Ya Tabtab Wa Dallaa, Oul Tani Eyh, Ah W Noss, Inta Eyh and Ma Tegi Hena. She has appeared in several music videos and released 11 studio albums, and is considered one of the Middle East region’s most influential singers.
Dwayne Johnson, former WWE and actor, is Hollywood’s top superhero, following the same path as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. His latest film to hit the screens is Hobbs and Shaw, a spin-off from the Fast and Furious franchise. It will be released in the UAE on 1st August.
Virat Kohli is an Indian skipper who debuted in 2008 and is currently considered to be one of the best cricketers in the world. As a right-handed top-order batsman, Virat has scored over 11,200 runs in one-day international cricket.
Zachary Levi is an American actor and singer who received critical acclaim for his role Chuck Bartowski, in the series Chuck, and his performance as the title character in superhero movie Shazam! He has visited Dubai on different occasions and also attended the Middle East Film and Comic Con in April 2019.
All these famous celebrities and more will get a star along the sidewalk of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. On the project’s official website, it says, ‘We are honouring the world's highest achievers with their very own Dubai Star in an epic walkable tribute in the heart of Downtown Dubai, Emaar.’ People can nominate up to 3 eminent personalities who have made a major positive impact in any of the following areas: Music, Film, Art, Architecture, Sports, Literature, Social Media Influence, Innovation and Social Work. The project will be launched in October 2019, with 400 stars, and it will eventually get a total of 10,000 stars.
