Nancy Ajram’s Husband Charged with Murder
Nancy Ajram’s husband Fadi Al-Hashem has been charged with murdering an intruder who entered their house earlier this month
Nancy Ajram is one of the most famous singers in the Middle East. However, in recent news, the singer’s husband, Fadi Al-Hashem has been charged of murder. Lebanese public prosecutor, Judge Ghada Aoun charged Fadi with the murder of the intruder who broke into their Beirut property earlier this month, reported Arab News. Fadi, who is also a celebrity dentist, stands accused of shooting the masked intruder and killing him. According to reports, the intruder broke into their house during the early hours of January 5.
Fadi said that the intruder was threatening his family - including his three daughters. But the judge added that if there is a way that can prove that Fadi acted in self-defense, the murder charges against him could be dropped. The accused’s lawyer also shared, “Al-Hashem’s act of legitimate defense is described in accordance with what is stipulated in the Lebanese Penal Code.” Earlier, a warrant was issued to arrest Fadi on the day of the murder, however, he was released after investigations on grounds that he acted in self-defense. CCTV footage from Nancy’s house showed that there was, in fact, an intruder in the house who was also seen carrying a gun with him.
In the video, Fadi is then seen appearing trying to chase the intruder, before firing the gun at him as the intruder ran towards one of the daughter’s rooms. Speaking to MTV Lebanon a few days after the incident, Nancy had said, “Before anything, Fadi is a father and a husband. He has responsibilities. He is a human being... It was a normal reaction to the threat he experienced. The children were in their rooms sleeping. They did not see what happened, but they woke up and heard everything.” She added that when she realised there was someone else in the house, she hid in the bathroom and called her father to asked for help.
