Monsoon season has well and truly arrived in Mumbai with heavy rains clogging the roads and causing major traffic jams. Here’s what some celebrities and locals have to say

It’s monsoon season and it’s raining cats and dogs in Mumbai. As the heavy rains commence in the Indian city, things have started to get quite ugly. As per reports, at least 27 people have been killed as a result of the rains and multiple walls having collapsed because of it. With blocked roads and jammed streets, it is taking citizens hours to get from one place to another. As a result, schools and colleges have been closed, the government has declared it a public holiday and flights and trains too have been delayed.

To express frustration with the current situation in the city, many took to social media. Celebrities including Sonam Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap also took to their Twitter accounts and expressed the inconveniences they were experiencing owing to the monsoon season.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was quick to tweet on his not-so-privileged-sometimes moment. The Gangs of Wasseypur director tweeted how he had already spent three hours in a traffic jam and had one more hour to go.

This was followed by another follow-up tweet in which he shares an update on his travel time:

The filmmaker is currently not working on any directorial project but has a few upcoming as a producer, namely Super 30 and Saand Ki Aankh. He will also be launching Paresh Rawal’s son Aditya in a movie titled Bamfaad, costarring Arjun Reddy and actress Shalini Pandey.

Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor too took to her social media accounts to ask whether the airport was open during the rains.

Mumbai Police were quick to respond to the Khoobsurat star and gave her a complete update on the situation.
