A Big Hello...
...to all you lovely Masala! readers! For those of you who don’t know me, a quick intro: I’m MissMalini – a social media jedi who eats, breathes, and sleeps Bollywood. I moved to Mumbai in the millennium with 2 suitcases, a passion to write, and something to say about everything that I loved – and voilà, a blog was born! Now, I spend my days jetting from movie promotions to fashion weeks to the most fabulous page 3 parties around town – rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of B-town and bringing my readers the inside scoop on it all! #LivingTheDream I’m super excited to be giving Masala! a glimpse into my life every week and look forward to taking you all on the journey that is my life!
It’s that time of the year ladies when you gather your best outfits and your best girls for a week full of fashion madness! That’s right! My fashion and beauty squad came together as one slaying machine at Lakme Fashion Week SR17 which happened in Mumbai. While the runway shows kept us entertained throughout the day, it was our fun chats with Bollywood celebrities that made fashion week truly epic for us. Team MissMalini caught up with the lovely Bipasha Basu who confessed her love for Biryani (which she eats only on her birthday). I love how she inspires women everywhere with her passion for all things fitness. We’re in total #GirlLove mode for our favorite fit girl right now.
Speaking of love, Hrishitaa from my team was totally smitten and grinning from ear to ear when she caught up with Rahul Khanna. With his effortless charm and smoludering sense of style, we can never get enough of this hottie. And get this..the weirdest compliment Rahul has ever received from a fan was - “I want to lick you!”. Let’s just put that one on the list of ‘things to never say to a celebrity’!
SHAH RUKH KHAN
And just when we thought we couldn’t handle any more excitement post the fashion week frenzy, Team MissMalini had an opportunity to meet up with King Khan yet again to talk about the success of Raees. He revealed the cutest little fact about his son, AbRam. So apparently, the little guy has seen the film twice already and absolutely loves the song 'Laila Main Laila’. SRK joked that he can’t figure out if he should be concerned or not but Abram can’t get enough of dancing to that song. Cuteness overload.
Elaborating on trends everyone needs to try out this season, ace designer Tarun Tahiliani said, "Wear what you feel like wearing. Be individualist. Find your own identity. Create your own trends!" Now if that doesn't make you want to embrace personal style, I don't know what will. So, go out there and make and break your own fashion rules ladies!
We also caught up with a bunch of designers and celebrities to find out the do's and don'ts of fashion. Their answers were refreshingly surprising. The #1 fashion rule: There are no rules. Super gal, Urvashi Rautela gave us some interesting advice: What you wear should be comfortable, light, easy and breezy- especially during summertime. But most importantly, enjoy what you're wearing and don't be afraid to experiment."
