Mindy is best known for her lead roles in NBC sitcom The Office, where she plays Kelly Kapoor, and for starring in the comedy series, The Mindy Project, where she played a character also by the name of Mindy. The 39-year old actress is now putting together her third collection of essays, currently untitled. This will be released through Amazon.com’s Amazon Original Stories imprint.
Amazon has announced that these essays will cover Mindy’s experiences as a single mother and her work and friendship with Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.
“It’s so exciting for me to share the secrets of how I balance being a professional writer, actor, and single mom in a new collection of essays I’m writing through @AmazonPub! I mean, it would be so exciting to share those secrets. I don’t have them. Like, not even close. This morning I bribed my baby with a remote control to get my car keys back. But I do have funny stories about my life and I can’t wait for you to read them,” Mindy shared on Instagram.
Previously, Mindy authored a memoir in 2011, titled Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), in which she shared stories from her life related to Hollywood, friends, relationships, dieting, etc.
This was followed by another funny and insightful memoir in 2015, Why Not Me?, which covered similar topics.
Both books were on the New York Times bestsellers list and are liked for her signature humour. The new book will be available for download as a Kindle eBook and as an Audible audiobook, with narration by Mindy. There is good news for Amazon Prime and Kindle Unlimited customers as they will be able to read the new release for free!
