Mena Massoud And All You Need to Know About Him
Mena Massoud appeared as Aladdin in the live action remake and here is everything you need to know about Aladdin’s lead actor
He’s cute, he loves to work out and he’ll whisk you away on a magic carpet. Who is this handsome hunk you ask? It’s none other than Mena Massoud, who plays the lead role in the latest live-action film to hit our screens: Aladdin.
Born in Egypt and raised in Ontario, Canada, Massoud has charmed his way on to the big screen with his million dollar smile. (refer to Instagram post below!) He currently spends his time in Toronto and Los Angeles and is Disney’s newest prince charming. Massoud gained popularity after he was cast in Guy Ritchie’s remake of Disney’s 1992 Aladdin and one glance at his Instagram account will instantly show you why.
The 27-year-old is active on Instagram (he’s so photogenic, we don’t blame him!) and gives his fans a peek into his life through his posts of food, family and his healthy lifestyle. You’ll often see a post on your timeline of Massoud posing shirtless or snaps of him as he gets his daily workout regimen in.

At the ripe age of 23, Massoud made the life changing decision to go vegan. His decision eventually led to him founding ‘Evolving Vegan’ a platform which aims to support and educate people on a similar journey or those interested in veganism.
Despite his life-changing role as Aladdin, Massoud has opened up about how his race has had an impact on his career. "At this point in my career, being a visible minority in this industry still affects me...The competition may be less, some people would say, but the amount of work to be had is less as well. However, I think the industry is growing more and more and starting to support actors of all cultural backgrounds,” he said in an interview with Defective Geeks.
While Aladdin is gaining momentum at the Box Office, the film is not the only thing he has under his sleeve, or under his magic carpet may we add. After Aladdin, Massoud is all set to appear in Amazon's Jack Ryan series and a political drama amongst other things. We can’t wait to see more of him on screen!
