Meesha Shafi vs Ali Zafar case: Another Witness Comes Forth Supporting Meesha
Meesha Shafi’s lawyer, Nighat Dad shared that another witness has come forward stating that Meesha had shared that Ali Zafar had misbehaved with her
Much like Hollywood and Bollywood, the #MeToo movement had also kicked up a storm in Pakistan earlier last year when singer Meesha Shafi came forth and shared that Ali Zafar had harassed her on multiple occasions. Soon after a case was filed, this is still going on in the court. Recently, Meesha’s lawyer, Nighat Dad shared that an eye-witness who also performed with the two singers at the jam session has come forth, stating that Meesha had told him that Ali had misbehaved with her. He added that Meesha also said she would never want to work with him again.
In a series of tweets, Nighat wrote, “Meesha’s manager Farhan Ali testified in court that he didn’t see an act of harassment because he was focusing on his instrument instead of Ali Zafar and Meesha during the jamming session. Similarly, he confirmed that it is impossible for the instrument players to also focus simultaneously on someone’s activity while playing their instrument. Farhan informed court that after the jamming session, Meesha mentioned to him that Ali Zafar made her uncomfortable and she would never work with him in any concert or show in the future. He also told court that Meesha never wanted to go public with the allegation and asked the management of Pepsi Battle of the Bands to resolve the issue and not force her to work with Ali Zafar.”

The lawyer continued, “Counsels for Meesha and Ali Zafar also advanced arguments on Ali Zafar’s application for stay of Meesha’s suit against Ali Zafar. After hearing the counsels, judge Amjad Ali Shah reserved judgement on the application. The case has been adjourned to November 30, 2019.” This is the third eye-witness to come forth from Meesha’s side. Earlier, Meesha’s mother and actress, Saba Hamid recorded her statement. Later, it was another actress, Iffat Omer who lent her support to the Mein singer.
