HUM TV has just shared two short trailers of its upcoming drama series, Daasi, starring Mawra Hocane and Adeel Hussain. The channel had earlier announced the series on its Facebook page, with the following synopsis, “Daasi is a story of a bubbly girl and a young business tycoon, struggling for peace in their lives!” The drama series brings Adeel and Mawra together for the first time. The first trailer, which HUM TV shared on its Twitter page, is 20-seconds long and focuses on Mawra Hocane. The caption reads,

“Apne ilawa koi nahi dikhta isay..woh haseen hai..sab se haseen! Presenting #MawraHocane as Sunehri in an unconventional tale of love #Daasi.”

The trailer begins with the closeup of a woman’s hand, opening a door, followed quickly by a closeup of her smile and we hear her laugh. It then shows different aspects of Sunheri’s seemingly happy and carefree life, playing cricket on the streets, whirling around and walking forward confidently, adorning colourful clothes and bangles. Then we see a woman yelling at another, accusing her of wearing someone else’s clothes (Sunehri presumably) and later, Sunheri is engaged in a conversation with her, with a voice in the background telling the audience that Sunheri does not notice anyone apart from herself. The trailer ends with a melancholic Sunheri, sitting alone, lost in her thoughts.

The second trailer -- captioned “Presenting #MawraHocane & #AdeelHussain first time together in an unconventional tale of love #Daasi” -- is 14-seconds long and focuses on Adeel Hussain. It opens with a gloomy, funeral procession and heavy rainfall, and Adeel is seen as part of the procession and then lowering the body in the grave. Sunehri (Mawra) speaks in the background, as a gloomy and brooding Salahuddin (Adeel) recalls his romance with her and her motivating words on achieving success. The drama has been written by Misbah Nausheen and directed by Mohsin Talat, and will start airing in September 2019.
