More often than not, trailers and teasers are either released online or shows at Comic-Con. However, this time around, the teaser of DC's upcoming film, Birds of Prey was only shown to cinemagoers, especially those at the theatre to watch this week's release, IT Chapter Two. And while it was originally intended to be a theatre-only experience, many were upset as fans of the DC comics also wanted to see what the film was bringing forth to the table. But it looks like their prayers have been answered as the 40 second teaser was leaked online and it is surprisingly in HD as well.

Much like other DC movies, the Warner Bros appears at the start of the teaser. But dozens of red balloons are seen flying in front of it as IT's clown, Pennywise's laughter echoes in the background. Soon after, a figure is seen walking towards the camera from the dark. It's next revealed that it is none other than Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, dressed in her complete costume, holding a large hammer. Possibly taking a dig at Pennywise or her ex-boyfriend, Joker from the Suicide Squad, Harley says, "I'm so over clowns." The teaser then cuts to the next clip.

A few glimpses of the film are shown which feature Harley along with the Huntress and Black Canary, each of them engaging in different kinds of action sequences. Actor Ewan McGregor also makes an appearance as the villain, Black Mask. Directed by Cathy Yan, the film also stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead and will serve as a spin off to 2016's Suicide Squad. On the other hand, a reboot of Suicide Squad is also in pre-production under director James Gunn. There are also reports of Birds of Prey being reshot with director Chad Stahelski, however, nothing has been confirmed. For now, the film is slated to release in February 2020.
