After Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and other A-listers, it is now the turn of Bollywood’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra to publish his memoirs. Yes, the man who has transformed many a Bollywood diva into inspiring fashionistas is all set to reveal his true story.
From Kareena Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar and the late Sridevi to Janhvi Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, to name just a few, Manish has been an integral part of these stunners’ career in films. The as-yet untitled book, will be co-written by journalist-author Sonal Kalra. It will chronicle Manish’s journey in the world of fashion and Bollywood. It will also give its readers a detailed insight into his life, right from his modelling days to his foray into fashion designing. From stories of his association with leading Indian actresses to back-stories on the ideas that went into designing the look for stars in iconic films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Rangeela, expect a complete package in its pages! Manish has also had the opportunity to work with several international stars like Michael Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Kylie Minogue, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Reese Witherspoon and the Princess of Riyadh in his 25-year-old career. “I finally thought the time was right for me to tell the story of my life. After completing 25 years in the film industry, my life has become entwined with Indian cinema and its constituents. Now after having completed 13 years of my couture label, I feel my journey can inspire those who find fashion as their true calling,” says a thrilled Manish.
The memoir will be brought out by Rupa Publications in 2019.
