Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor shocked fans when they finally made their relationship insta official and jetted off to New York to spend some quality time together away from the public eye and the media’s glare. They took to social media to share glimpses from their romantic getaway with their fans and it seems they had quite a blast. After they arrived back in Mumbai, the two have been spotted out and about on lunch and dinner dates and their pictures have been circulating on social media. Prior to opening up about their relationship, the Bollywood dancing star kept her relationship with the much-younger actor under wraps.
In a recent interview Malaika Arora opened up about being a woman in India and that attempting to try a second chance at love its still considered a taboo. "It is a taboo because there are a lot of situations and issues that need to be tackled in our country, though I think the issue needs to be looked at with an open mind," she told an online portal.
Malaika Arora, 45, was earlier married to actor Arbaaz Khan with whom she has a 16-year-old son, Arhaan. They parted ways around two years ago now and have both found love in other people. "A little more sensitivity (is needed), as opposed to being harsh and callous and negative towards things. I think it is important to be inclusive. When I talk of second chances, I'm thinking of making the most of second chances. I think everybody should be given a second chance," she said.
During the interview, Malaika was also asked if she finds it taxing that her personal life is always under the scanner, to which she said, "It is part of being in the public eye, of being in this business. I think the sooner you make peace with it, the better things works out for you. Also, I feel we are all quite comfortable with it right now.”
With her followers nearing the 10 million mark, Malaika has made her mark in the industry. Making her big Bollywood debut in Chaiya Chaiya Malaika has worked her way up to where she is today. Despite the popularity and despite having a huge fan following, it all comes with its fair share of scrutiny and criticism. Malice Arora has often faced social media trolls and bullies who have trolled the starlet about her relationship age gap with Arjun and her style of dressing amongst other things.
"No one should give importance to trolls, because if you pay heed to them you just fuel trolling. At the end of the day we have something called the media to project everything that needs to be out there. I do not give trolling or negativity any importance," she said to the portal in her interview. Over time, Malaika Arora has come to be known as Bollywood's Chhaiyya Chaiyya girl after becoming a dancing sensation with hits numbers such as Chaiyya Chaiyya, Gur Naal Ishq Mitha, Maahi Ve, Kaal Dhamaal and Munni Badnaam Hui.
"I am absolutely fine with it (the Chaiyya Chaiyya Girl) because I think that's what gave me my identity. I can say I was part of one of the most iconic songs of all time," she said. Malaika Arora kick started her career as a video jockey and hosted shows such as Club MTV, Love Line and Style Check before becoming a dancing sensation.
