Mahira Khan has always been the queen of sass. She may appear as the demure damsel in distress on television but her social media game is totally different. Whether it's on Twitter or on her instagram captions, she often shuts down trolls with some epic zingers. She once shut down a troll who was trying to talk down to her about breast cancer. Another time she corrected a troll who was attempting to make fun of her for having her pictures taken with Ranbir Kapoor. 'Ranbir,' she corrected him when he misnamed the Bollywood actor. Epic, right? Right.
Recently a 10-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Pakistan. Her name was Farishta and the entire Pakistani twitter was demanding #JusticeforFarishta when a twitter troll attempted to shame Mahira for her work. Mahira responded to another troll on Twitter who said people of 'showbiz were using rape cases to promote their agenda'. Mahira gave the Twitter troll this fantastic reply.
"Really?" Mahira demanded. "The ‘vulgarity’ causes someone to go rape a 10 year oldand then kill her? Get a grip. It’s the mindset! It’s the shame associated with it. And no I will not back off. My voice. My life. I will do whatever I want with it."
Mahira would soon be seen in Hum Films' Superstar opposite Azaan Sami Khan and Bilal Ashraf. The film is being directed by Ehteshamuddin who recently directed the partition play Aangan. She would also be seen inn Bilal Lashari's The Legend of Maula Jatt with Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick and Gohar Rasheed. She is also set to make an extended cameo appearance in Sheheryaar Munawar and Maya Ali's upcoming film Parey Hat Luv. She would also be making an appearance at Paris Fashion Week even though she did not walk the Red Carpet at Cannes Film Festival in France this year.
