Despite all the talk of Emraan Hashmi deliberately moving away from home camp – uncle Mahesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films – the actor tackled it diplomatically. He said he could always do a film with home camp, but nothing special had materialised. But things got more obvious when Randeep Hooda replaced Emraan in 'Murder 3'. Emraan kept mum and stepped out to favour the Ektaa Kapoor camp.
But now his uncle Mahesh Bhatt has come up with some rather shocking takes on nephew Emraan. He explained that he casted Randeep in 'Murder 3' because he wants to take the Murder franchise "to a more upmarket level to appeal to a multiplex audience and not just the Emraan's mass base." Getting a little ruder Mahesh insists, "In my career, I've realised that no one is indispensable. Emraan has moved out and is exploring the world outside the Bhatt camp. The world doesn't really begin and end with Mahesh Bhatt. I've found Randeep to fill in for him."
Well, well, well In Emraan's favour we can only add that he's hit the big time with bigger films like 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai', 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Shanghai'. And he certainly doesn't seem to be stuck with a "mass base" considering he's the chosen one for the biggest mergers in town – the Karan Johar-Ektaa Kapoor film!
