Pooja Bhatt has taken to Instagram to deny reports that her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has suffered a heart attack and passed away. This was in response to a poster doing the rounds on social media, which said that Mahesh had passed away and included the picture of a deceased Gujarati actor, also named Mahesh Bhatt. Despite the inclusion of the photograph, the fake news of the legendary director’s death started circulating, creating a panic in the industry, with the director's brother Mukesh Bhatt receiving calls from well wishers, inquiring about Mahesh’s wellbeing.

Mahesh is returning as a director after 20 years, with the sequel of his movie Sadak. Starring Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur, the team recently completed the Mysore shooting schedule of Sadak 2. Posting a time-lapse video, which shows the crew packing up, Pooja wrote, “Wrap/Unwrap.. and with that we ended a truly magnificent schedule for Sadak2 in Mysore! Can’t wait to be back on set! Each day pushed our limits, each day revealed something more to each of us. And long after the last trunk was packed and the last tempo sent on its way home, the fire @maheshfilm has ignited in all of us continues to blaze with fervour, passion & a desire to do even more!” The film will hit the screens on 10th July 2020.
