Madhur Bhandarkar-Sanjay Bhansali to team up?
Madhur may direct the Hindi remake of a tamil movie for Bhansali
They are as different as chalk and cheese but Sanjay Leela Bhansali thinks highly of Madhur Bhandarkar's directorial skills.
The buzz is that the 'Black' and 'Sawaariya' director has approached Madhur to direct a film for him which is a remake of a tamil film titled 'Ramana'. The original film had been scripted and directed by 'Ghajini' director AR Murgadoss.
According to reports Bhansali was very impressed with the 2002 release 'Ramana' starring Vijaykanth and Simran which was made on a shoestring budget of Rs 11.5 crore and went on to become a mega blockbuster for its time. It even inspired a Telugu and a Kannada version.
Since 'Ramana' was a hard-hitting film, Bhansali felt that the only person who could do justice to its remake was none other than Madhur whose portfolio includes realistic films like 'Chandni Bar', 'Page 3' and 'Fashion'.
Bhansali, sources say, has already sent an official from his company to meet Madhur along with a DVD of 'Ramana.'
While earlier it was reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan may feature in the remake, it turns out that they were just rumours.
