Love Handles Not Budging? Here Are 4 Exercises That Can Help You Out

Love handles, muffin tops or, as Ashley Graham calls it, “Side Butt”, are the first one to come and last to disappear from overall body fat and can be pretty challenging to get rid of.

Love handles can be quite unsightly and honestly the most difficult part to get rid of because they come under stubborn fat zones. It is caused mainly due to poor eating habits, junk food intake, and alcohol consumption. Women also undergo a lot of hormonal changes when preparing the body for childbirth, which is again a reason that contributes to love handles. Hence a mix of exercises and proper diet is an ultimate solution to deal with muffin tops.

Here are some simple exercises to get rid of the stubborn excess fat deposits from your waist.

1. Bicycle Crunch

Bicycle crunches help reduce waistline and visibly reduce love handles in 3-4 weeks of continuous exercise. Include this in your workout routine. Do it 10 to 15 times in one session.

How to do it:

  • Lie on your back on the ground with legs straight in front of you. Put your hands behind your head, but do not clasp them together.
  • Lift your shoulders and upper back off the ground.
  • Now bend your left knee and bring it towards the chest. At the same time, move your right elbow towards your left knee so that they meet in the middle of the body.
  • Repeat.

2. Side Plank

Just like its name, this exercise targets your sides muffins where all the flab exists stubbornly. It’s just like a plank but on your side instead of the front. Do it at least 10 to 15 times for both sides.

How to do it:

  • Start in a right side plank with left foot in front of right and left arm reaching to the sky.
  • Reach left arm above head while raising hips.
  • Lower hips and reach left arm to the sky.
  • Lift and square hips to the ground, threading right arm under left to reach behind you.
  • Repeat.

3. One Hand Toe Touch:

This exercise helps burn excess fat from the lower abdomen and waist and is the best love handle workout. Losing love handles is made easier with this exercise.

How to do it:

  • Sit with your legs out in front of you at shoulder length distance.
  • Pull your right leg inside, resting the sole flat on the left inner thigh.
  • Now point the left hand’s fingers at the ceiling while you lift the hand.
  • Bend till you touch your left toe.
  • Hold for 5 seconds, then repeat.

4. Front Bend:

It makes your abdominal muscles work. It helps in stretching out and complete body workout. Do this exercise at least 20 times

How to do it:

  • Stand with legs apart, wider than shoulders.
  • Put the arms stretched out on the sides parallel to the shoulders.
  • Breathe in and bend the body forward touching the right hand on left toe and neck looking at the left hand.
  • Get back in position and repeat on the other side.

These exercises combined with a bit of tweaking in your daily diets can help reduce muffin tops in considerable amounts. Supplement your food with adequate lentils, peas, and other beneficial seeds.
