Love Aaj Kal Trailer Review: Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan’s Chemistry Fails On-Screen

Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming film, Love Aaj Kal is all set to hit screens on February 14

Fans had been eagerly waiting for Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan to finally star in a project that pays tribute to her star parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. They were treated to the news when it was announced that Imtiaz Ali was all set to create another Love Aaj Kal – which last starred Saif and Deepika Padukone back in 2009. Sara was cast as the female lead along with Kartik Aaryan – two of whom also broke up a few months ago. The trailer of the sequel was released earlier today but it looks like all excitement has gone to waste as it did not show anything promising.

Much like the 2009 version, this installment also features the same storyline. A boy and girl in a relationship, one wants things to get serious, the other has other aspirations and plans. On the other hand, an old tale runs simultaneously as well. Sara – who is a tremendous actress – doesn’t seem to be doing much in this film. Many thought she would bring a lot to the table but her acting falls short from what can be seen in the trailer as several scenes and emotions seem fake. Likewise, her chemistry with Kartik isn’t one that impresses either. Many believed that they might pair well on-screen, however, the opposite was true in this case.

Scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day this year, February 14, Love Aaj Kal is a film that tackles the ever-changing dynamic of being in and finding love. Veer, essayed by Kartik and Zoe, played by Sara traverse this tricky path of love while trying their luck in finding the answers to these questions. Will they be able to find out what lies ahead of them and if it’s something they wish for? Looks like we’ll have to wait to find out as well.
