Kylie Jenner's New Walnut Face Scrub: Here's Why Fans Were Not Happy
Kylie Jenner has launched a new walnut face scrub but fans weren't happy. Here's why
Billionaire, socialite, Kylie Jenner has one of the biggest cosmetic brands in the world but her Kylie Skin walnut face scrub has not been received well by her fans in the online world. Launched mid-May, this product was instantly hit by controversy as people highlighted that walnuts in face scrubs are actually bad for the skin. Serving as an exfoliator in the scrub, walnuts can remove dead skin cells from your face but might be too harsh for certain skin types.
In the promotional video for the scrub, Kylie says, "It's really gentle - gentle enough to use every day. I'd recommend two or three times a week, that's how much I use it. Some walnut face scrubs are kinda harsh on the skin. This isn't too abrasive...it really leaves my skin feeling super baby soft, just makes you look glowy, takes away dead skin cells…. My walnut face scrub is my secret to a fresh face.”
However, many people did not buy these claims and expressed their disappointment on Twitter:
Well this is horrifying. A foaming face wash and a walnut scrub?! Tragic to think that millions of girls will buy this trash and destroy their skin barriers. pic.twitter.com/2vBnKpKMLs— All Dolled Up (@AllDolledUp_SA) May 14, 2019

Another user said, "Crushed up walnut in your face scrub is not good!!! The walnut pieces will actually create tiny little cuts on the surface of your skin." Another user expressed their disappointment with, "Kylie Jenner literally a billionaire and all she can offer her buyers is a "walnut scrub" walnuts are harsh for skin babe. YOU PLAYIN!" Kayla Zavodny, another user said, "After the walnut face scrub, next month will come the face reconstruction and rebuilding lotion. All about that #marketing . #KYLIECOSMETICS #KylieSkin #walnutscrub" A licensed esthetician responded to Kylie saying, "You should not be exfoliating everyday!!!!! 1x a week MAX!! And Walnut will cause micro tears in your skin, using it everyday will result in couperose skin (broken capillaries)!"

Only a specialist can tell us what the whole truth about a walnut face scrub is but it’s best to consult a dermatologist to understand your skin type and needs before investing in any face scrubs or other facial products. Most cosmetic lines are invested in marketing and selling their products and consumers purchase them purely based on how hyped up a product us. While the average face wash or daily skincare routine can be managed with over-the-counter essentials or pharmacy brands but it is important to understand that effective skincare can only happen if you have consulted a dermatologist.
