Kourtney Kardashian Defends Her And Scott Disick’s Parenting: ‘Don’t Ever Spank A Child!’

Kourtney Kardashian revealed it is not right to hurt children. While some Twitter users supported her, others felt “children don't usually only listen to words they listen to actions!”

Parenthood is no easy feat. It comes with its own share of highs and lows, praises and criticism and good and bad times. However, how one raises their children is no body’s business but their own. Reality TV sensation Kourtney Kardashian recently came under fire for her opinion on parenting her three children with former flame Scott Disick. The 40-year-old defended her stance on not spanking children when Twitter users criticised Kourtney and her ex-partner following an episode of Keeping up With the Kardashians. In one scene, Disick was seen engrossed in a heated debate with Kris Jenner's boyfriend, Corey Gamble, over his seven-year-old daughter, Penelope.

Penelope supposedly scratched her nanny. "If P scratched me, I'm whipping her,” Gamble said at a dinner that included Kourtney, Kris and Scott. The fight escalated and Disick told Gamble, "Don't ever talk about a child like that!"

As Kourtney rewatched the episode, she tweeted several responses addressing childhood hitting. And this did not sit well with many users on the micro-blogging site! While one posted that Kourtney’s children need "more discipline then you are giving them," another said that she needs to get her kids "in check now" and "take it serious now."  However, Kourtney shut down all the trollers. She responded, “And in my opinion beating children is not the way to 'get your kids in check’.” Another user tweeted that children "don't usually only listen to words they listen to actions."

However, Kourtney stated that being a parent isn't always easy but there are consequences that don't involve physical harm. "So you think physical harm is the only action? That's sad. Of course, there are many consequences which we dealt with, I am very proud of my kids and being a parent isn’t always easy, but we do have consequences that don’t involve physical harm.”

Some parents did show support for Kourtney and said she should parent her children her way. “You do what’s best for your kids Kourt and keep being the mother that you are, one that loves and gives and commits to her children, you’re admirable,” said one user. Another added, "I was hit as a kid it only made me rebel and be more disrespectful!! Doesn't always work.”
