Min Hee Jin, former CEO of ADOR, has faced controversy with HYBE in recent months. In a YouTube talk show appearance, she revealed that BTS’s V reached out to check on her well-being during this challenging time, showing support even while fulfilling his military service.

For unversed, Taehyung’s first solo album, Layover—executive produced by Min Hee Jin—features an R&B sound with pop influences across six tracks, including “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing,” and “Rainy Days.” Layover sold over 1.67 million copies on its first day, breaking solo K-pop records, and debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 with 100,000 units, placing V among the highest-charting Korean solo artists alongside Jimin and Suga.

Did V reached out to Min Hee Jin?

On October 29, 2024, ADOR’s former CEO, Min Hee Jin, appeared as a guest on music critic Kim Young Dae’s YouTube channel, School of Music, where she discussed the controversy involving HYBE. She also shared that BTS’ V, or Kim Taehyung, occasionally calls her from the military, describing him as “cheerful and lively.”

Reminiscing on her conversation with Taehyung, Min Hee Jin said, “V occasionally calls me from the military. Sometimes, I find myself wondering, ‘Is he really in the army?’ He’s such a bright and cheerful person. We speak informally, and he often asks in his usual carefree manner, ‘Are you doing okay?’”

She also shared that Taehyung sent her a heartfelt birthday wish that deeply touched her. “He’s incredibly warm-hearted and kind, which really moved me,” Min Hee Jin added.

The former ADOR CEO revealed that V was worried about Min Hee Jin’s openness. Min Hee Jin stated that the BTS member had asked her if it was alright for her to be so transparent with the public. However, she informed him that she was “actually holding back a lot in those moments.”

About HYBE vs ADOR ex-CEO Min Hee Jin

HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin are entangled in a dispute that began on April 22, just before NewJeans’ anticipated comeback and Japanese debut. HYBE accused Min of attempting a takeover, leaking information, and harming the label’s reputation. Though Min denied the claims, she was replaced as CEO by ADOR’s internal director, Kim Ju-young. ADOR stated on August 27 that Min would remain as an internal director despite stepping down as CEO.

Recently, The Seoul Central District Court dismissed Min Hee-jin’s plea to be reinstated as ADOR’s CEO. In response, HYBE expressed gratitude for the “court’s wise judgment” and assured they would focus on stabilizing ADOR’s operations and supporting its artists. However, Min Hee-jin’s representatives disagreed with the ruling and indicated they may pursue further action to reinstate her.
