Keanu Reeves is back on screens with the third movie of the action-packed series 'John Wick' but that is not the only reason the 'Matrix' star has become the talk of the town in the past few days. While making a guest appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', the 54-year-old revealed how he had a crush on his co-actor, Sandra Bullock, while shooting the 1994 movie 'Speed'. The revelation came when Ellen played a clip of Bullock talking about having a crush on Reeves when the two were filming 'Speed'. “I think about how sweet Keanu Reeves was and how handsome he was,” Bullock had said in the December interview. She continued by laying out one of the reasons why the duo never got together. “It was hard for me to be serious!” The two, at that point in time never went out together, which Bullock also believes was because maybe “there was something about me that I guess he didn’t like”.
After the clip, it was time for Reeves to tell his side of the story, and he dropped the bomb by saying he never knew Bullock was interested, adding that he had the same feelings for her. “She obviously didn’t know I had a crush on her either,” revealed Reeves, but he continued by showing his astute professionalism saying, “We were working!” Furthermore, the action star went on to admire Bullock calling on her a ‘wonderful’ person to work with. “It was nice to go to work; she’s such a wonderful person and a wonderful actress.” After Reeves’ confession, Ellen joked by jokingly calling Bullock to stage, which might not have been a surprise considering the interesting content of the show. However, Ellen killed any future implications of both star’s revelation by saying, “I believe she’s in a relationship now. The window closed.”
Ellen also talked about how she had never met Reeves before the interview to which he replied that he doesn’t go out much. Ellen, being her quirky self, then mentioned that they should’ve met during the filming of 'Speed' because she was supposed to get the part of Bullock. “Speed was originally written for me, did you know that?” Ellen asked Reeves. She continued: “This is a true story and Sandra Bullock will tell you. The guy who wrote 'Speed', wrote it with me in mind and then Sandy got the part. So it would’ve been you and me, it would have been nice, it would have been phenomenal.” Reeves played along by saying, “It would have been awesome, it would have been another multiverse version of 'Speed'.” Ellen then played a clip from the movie where she was driving the bus instead of Bullock. After the clip Ellen proposed that Reeves and her should star in 'Speed 3', to which Reeves replied in affirmation, in an obviously joke-laden way.
