Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan To Share Screen Space In Women-Centric Film?
Katrina Kaif and Vidya Balan will be seen on-screen together for the first time if reports of them working together for their next film are to be believed
Bollywood is currently on a roll when it comes to making women-centric films. And in the last few years, many films with a female lead have been making headlines and also faring well at the box office. The likes of Pink, No One Killed Jessica, Neerja, Mom, English Vinglish, Queen, Mardaani have been lauded by many. And in recent times, film such as Pataakha, Veere Di Wedding and several others are being appreciated by audiences, along with the upcoming Saandh Ki Aankh. Following this trend, there are reports suggesting that there might be another women-centric film starring two amazing actresses.
Rumours reveal that superstars Katrina Kaif and Vidya Balan will be sharing screen space together for filmmaker Anand L Rai’s next outing. The film, which is yet to be titled, will be helmed by Anirudh Ganapathy who served as an assistant director in Zero, wherein he approached Katrina for the project. Reports further state that Katrina has agreed to be a part of the upcoming film, whereas there have been no news from Vidya’s side. The makers, however, have approached the Kahaani actress. The script is currently in its final stages of completion, upon which the story will be narrated to the stars – which is when further confirmation can be expected.
As of now, Katrina is working on Sooryavanshi opposite Akshay Kumar after which she will begin filming the sequel to her 2013 film Bang Bang called Bang Bang Reloaded. Soon after, she will be reuniting with one of her favourite co-stars, Salman Khan for the third installment of Tiger. On the other hand, Vidya is currently busy filming Shakuntala Devi: Human Computer along with Sanya Malhotra – which is based on the real life story of Indian mathematician of the same name. She was last seen in Mission Mangal opposite Akshay, Taapsee Pannu and Sonakshi Sinha which proved to be a hit among the masses.
