The relationship between Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone has often become talk of the town and much has been said and written about the equation between the two. The reason, you may ask? Both the Bollywood starlets dated Ranbir Kapoor at some point and two ladies haven’t always been able to meet eye to eye. It would be an understatement to say that Katrina and Ranbir’s relationship was intense, and it also lasted for six years. It has been said that the two leading ladies did not get along with one another since then.
It is for this reason that fans and the film fraternity were pleasantly surprised to see Kat attending Deepika and Ranveer Singh's wedding reception in Mumbai. It also came as a surprise to netizens to see their recent exchange of words on Katrina Kaif’s latest instagram post. It appears the two have left the old times behind them and moved on to become friends.
Katrina Kaif recently took to social media to post a picture of her with her stylist, Amit Thakur.
As was expected, fans went into frenzy and commented frivolously on the post with many questioning who “the guy” was. Celebrity big wigs, including the likes of Farah Khan and Huma Qureshi took to the comments section to say a few words, but it was Deepika Padukone’s comment that drew everyone’s attention.
“Too much hotness in one frame,” she wrote.
Kat was quick to respond with kiss emojis and “Can’t compete with Amit’s poses.”
On a recent talk show, the Zero star was questioned about what made her decide to attend Deepika and Ranveer’s reception, to which she responded, “It's as simple as this. I received the invite. I received a message saying 'you have to come and be a part of this'. I found that very sweet. I paused for a moment and said I feel like going.”
"Even if in the past that relationship has been where you don't see eye to eye, it's still now a relationship. So in a strange way, I kind of felt that I was involved in this celebration of their wedding. I wanted to go and wish them. This is somebody who has come into the industry, we both came in our teens and now we are not in our teens. There is a sense of mutual respect and acknowledgement of the other person. It's nice that we have a sense of friendship between us," she added.
We can recall the sweet picture Katrina took with the happy couple on the day of their reception. It is nice to see that regardless of what ensued in the past, the leading ladies have been able to move on and see eye to eye. Deepika Padukone will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, in which she will be seen essaying the role of an acid attack survivor.
