Kartik Aaryan Confesses That Entering Bollywood Was the Only Plan He Had

Kartik Aaryan shared that he had no plan B and wouldn't know what he would have done if his acting stint didn't work out

Kartik Aaryan is now easily amongst the list of the top actors in Bollywood. The young actor started his career in 2011 with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, and later starred in several other films, including a sequel in 2015. Three years later, in 2018, the actor played the lead in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which was loved by many filmgoers around the world. The film also earned him a lot of success and recognition, making him one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood right now. He then starred in Luka Chuppi which became an instant hit and has already signed a number of films with some of the biggest filmmakers of Bollywood.

Being an outside in Bollywood is not always easy, but Kartik was able to pull it off in a short amount of time. In a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle, he confessed that acting was the only thing that he ever thought of doing. He said, "I didn’t have a Plan B. If I didn’t have this career then I don’t know what I would have done. I didn’t have anywhere to go to, I was in a mess, and I was struggling. Back then, if I would have thought of an option then I would have never reached here. I am interested in directing, but nothing apart from that."

Kartik credits his success to Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Speaking to film critic Rajiv Masand in an earlier interview, he shared, "It was a film that actually changed my life. My character of Sonu was an author-backed role and I feel we all need a friend like Sonu in our lives which is why this role is really special to me. After the film’s success, I started getting attention from the right kind of people. They started noticing me the way I wanted them to notice me. I started getting response from the people who I wanted to work with." Kartik will be next seen in Pati, Patni aur Woh. After wrapping it up, he will be working on a number of sequels such as Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2, Bhool Bhulaiya 2 and Dostana 2 under Karan Johar's direction.
