In a short span of time, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has already left a huge mark in the industry. Making her debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year back in 2012, the starlet has proved her mettle as an actress. Her acting in Highway, Udta Punjab and Raazi was lauded by many, putting her in the list of one of the finest performers of Bollywood. And now that she's dating Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, the two have been the talk of the town. So when Karan and Kareena Kapoor Khan - Ranbir's cousin - got to spend some time together with Alia, the two couldn't stop teasing her.

Sharing the stage at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela 2019, Alia, Kareena and Karan talked about films and their career. Karan then didn't let go of the opportunity and asked Alia if she had ever thought that Kareena would be her sister-in-law. But before the young starlet could answer, Kareena chimed in, "I’ll be the happiest girl in the world." Alia tried to avoid the question but still replied, "Honestly, I never thought about it. Why should we think about it now? We can cross that bridge when we come to it." Karan, of course, wasn't easily convinced. He responded saying, "Whenever it has to happen, both Kareena and I will be exceptionally happy and we’d be standing there with a thaali."

The trio also discussed many others things - one being the younger generation of actors and actresses. Kareena shared that there have been many brave actors and actresses in recent times, and that Alia is the "generation's best" and lauded her performance in Udta Punjab. Kareena and Alia shared screen space in film which was based around substance abuse. They will be seen together on screen once again in Takht, which is all set to go on floors early next year - directed by none other than Karan himself. It also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar in titular roles.
