Starting from Refugee in 2000, today in 2019 Kareena Kapoor Khan completes here nineteen glorious years in Bollywood. Hailing from the blue blood royal clan of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor joined the Indian film industry following the footsteps of her elder sister Karisma Kapoor. The Kapoors had been in the film business for almost four generations but it was still not acceptable for them to have the women of their family working in Bollywood. Probably that was the reason that most of the actresses who married into the Kapoor household left their film career after the marriage.
The second and youngest daughter of Randhir and Babita Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, always wanted to be a film actor. Some of the credit also goes to the environment she was raised in.
She grew up around films and film people in the family.
There was no life beyond films that little Kareena had an idea of. She did have phases where she tried experimenting with other careers in life e.g. law and microcomputers.
However, Kareena’s eternal calling was always acting on the silver screen.
She would often visit her sister Karisma Kapoor on her sets and tell her colleagues that one day she would be acting with them.
Kareena made her Bollywood debut with ‘refugee’ in 2000 starring opposite Abhishek Bachhan. However, her major claim to fame was her character ‘Poo’ in Karan Johar’s film ‘Kubhi Khushi Kubhi Gham’. Since then there has been no looking back. Kareena Kapoor’s career has seen its share of ups and downs but the determined actress made sure she is never giving up. She has been steadfast and never took a break from acting no matter what the circumstances were. Although Kareena Kapoor majorly prefers commercial films, she has also given some critically acclaimed performances e.g. Chameli and Omkara. One of her most popular characters was ‘Geet’ from ‘Jab we met.’ Geet gained instant popularity because young girls across the world could easily relate to her. Kareena Kapoor is currently shooting for Hindi Medium (part 2) and Good News.
