Karan Oberoi: ‘Season 3 of Inside Edge Has Already Been Shot’

Karan Oberoi explains why his role is so meagre in season 2 of Inside Edge

Karan Oberoi who was lately incarcerated in an allegedly  fake  sexual harassment case, is now being seen in the  second season of the popular web series Inside Edge which began streaming on 6 December. He plays the  Bollywood superstar Imtiaz (apparently based on Salman Khan) who is in love with the ambitious IPL owner Zarina Malik (Richa Chadha apparently modelled on Preity Zinta). However compared to Season 1 Karan’s role in Season 2 is  very meagre. Explains Karan, “I shot  for Season 2 just before I went through my ordeal(incarceration). They had to edit  out my character as I was not there to shoot. You  won’t see me at  all in Season 3 which has already been shot because I  was  not available.  But hopefully  I’ll be back  in Season 4.”

That’s right. Even as Season 2  of Inside Edge started streaming this week  Season 3  is ready and  waiting to be streamed. Season 4  will be shot  after  Season  3  is  released. Karan  Oberoi lately incarcerated on charges of sexual assault,  is  all set to release a book on his experiences that eventuated in his  one month in  prison. The  book   will be  a  cautionary tale for all those men  who get into  a relationship with their eyes closed. Says  Karan, "I have been  writing for a few years now. I believe whatever has happened to me would serve as a  good  cautionary tale  on the dos and don’ts of  social interaction and  friendships across the gender line.”

The  book, when released,  is  bound to ruffle feathers, as  it would expose the  hollowness  of a social  system that allows  a woman  to name and shame  a  man in a sex-related  crime without a shred  of evidence.
