A normal life still seems far away for television actor and musician Karan Oberoi who was sent to jail after being accused of rape. The tv actor was accused of rape and intimidation and was arrested a few weeks ago. Now out on bail, Karan’s rehabilitation process will take longer than it originally seemed. Close friends say Karan is in a  deep depression and would take longer to come out of it than expected.

Karan’s closest friend Pooja Bedi says, “He’s naturally overwhelmed by the love and support and the enormity of what he has experienced. Jail is a traumatic grueling experience. I can’t wait for  the accuser  to be jailed and to experience what she put Karan through.”

There is a rumor that Karan may not want to pursue the matter at all and may want to simply move on with his severely interrupted life. If that is indeed the case the MenToo movement would suffer a big setback. And women who misuse laws made to protect them against sexual violation may further continue to misuse these laws for revenge. However Pooja Bedi puts all such rumors to end as she declares Karan Oberoi’s intentions to fight  for  the  rights of men languishing in jail after being accused by women of  sexual misconduct,

Says Pooja, “After his experience and after seeing over 600 cases like his in Taloja jail itself  Karan Oberoi  is DETERMINED  to be a part of #mentoo and to push for gender-neutral laws and also put an end to fake cases which victimize lakhs of  innocent men every year.”
