Known and loved for his popular, romantic films including Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna ace filmmaker, Karan Johar is now all set to step in the direction of a new genre.
After treating movie buffs and cinema lovers with a variety of romantic films, Karan Johar is now stepping into the horror genre. Karan took to Twitter and Instagram on Friday to announce that his Dharma Productions is now “anchoring” a horror film.
He shared a poster which read: "Dharma Productions is anchoring a new franchise of fear. November 15, 2019,” captioning the post, “Film announcement on Monday! STAY TUNED!”
For now, these are the only details Karan Johar has revealed and other details pertaining to the project still remain under wraps.
Karan's Dharma Production is known for producing films such as "My Name Is Khan", "I Hate Luv Storys", "Student of the Year", "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", "The Lunchbox", "Hasee Toh Phasee", "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, "Kapoor & Sons", "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", "Dear Zindagi", "Badrinath Ki Dulhania", "Raazi", "Dhadak", "Kalank" and "Student Of The Year 2".
Prior to working on the horror franchise, Karan Johar was consumed with the much-awaited fantasy adventure Brahamastra starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan; which is slated for release on December 20, 2019.
His latest project, Student of The Year 2’ also released last month and was a sequel to the 2012 hit ‘Student of The Year’ which marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.
Karan is also all set to host a dating show titled, ‘What the Love’ with Karan Johar’ on Netflix.
