Karan Johar Posts the First Look of Jahnvi Kapoor Starrer Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl
Karan Johar has released the first look of his upcoming film Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl where Jahnvi Kapoor is playing the main lead.
Karan Johar shared the first look of Dharma Productions film Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl on his social media accounts. This film is a biopic made on Gunjan Saxena who was the first female recipient of Shaurya Chakra. Gunjan Saxena was an Airforce pilot who played an important role in transferring the injured soldiers from the war location for medical aid. In the first image, Jahnvi Kapoor can be seen as a young girl wearing a colorful sweater and flying a paper plane. The caption says, ‘She was told ki ladkiyan pilot nahin banti...but she stood her ground and wanted to fly!’
In the second image, Jahnvi can be seen in the Indian Airforce uniform walking amidst the soldiers who are applauding for her. The caption says, ‘With unabashed courage & bravery, she made her domain in a man's world.’
While Jahnvi will play the role of Gunjan Saxena, Pankaj Tripathi will be playing the role of her father and Angad Bedi will be playing her brother. In the third image, Jahnvi can be seen hugging him and beaming with joy wearing the uniform. ‘Her pillar of strength - her father. He gave her the wings to fly!’
Directed by Sharan Sharma, Gunjan Saxena -The Kargil Girl is scheduled to release on 13th March 2019. Jahnvi Kapoor had to undergo a physical transformation for this role and gain some muscle weight. According to her trainer Namrata Purohit, the Dhadak girl is currently working out six days a week for two to three hours. Her training for the first two days is Electrical Muscle Stimulation while for the remaining four days she dedicatedly does Pilates. Due to her back injury from the past, Jahnvi Kapoor needs to follow a monitored workout regime. According to Pankaj Tripathi, who is playing the role of Gunjan Saxena’s father, he is very happy with his role and has mutual respect for Jahnvi Kapoor.
