Here are some exclusive details of the upcoming marriage of actor-comedian Kapil Sharma. Kapil is going to tie the knot with Hardev Nagar-based resident and his college friend Ginni Chatrath on December 12. The Sharmas are sending special bar-coded invitation boxes containing an assortment of ‘dry fruit panjeeri’, a South Indian dessert ‘Mysore Paak’ apart from roasted cashew squash, green tea and other baked delights for their forthcoming wedding.
The couple has selected Jalandhar’s oldest and biggest sweet shop—Lovely Sweets— and its sister concern Lovely Imagination for their hand-picked invitation sweet box, ceremonial thali and platters, trousseau packaging and other wedding gifts. They have also booked Phagwara-based Cabana Spa and Resorts for two days on December 12 and 13. The ‘Pooja Thali’ for a religious ceremony slated to be held at Kapil’s Amritsar-based home on December 10 has also been ordered from Lovely Sweets.
A report in Indian Express says that a team of three Chinese chefs will land at Cabana on Friday where a royal mix of selected Punjabi, Chinese and Italian food will be served to a galaxy of guests. “More than a dozen chefs from other countries such as Thailand and the UK are on the way for the marriage,” said Manoj Chodha and Anil Chodha, the managing directors of Cabana Spa and Resorts popularly known as Doaba’s ‘Celebrity Destination’ where marriages of ace cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Mandy were solemnised. Even top stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Dharmendra and Katrina Kaif have stayed there a couple of times. “A strong ‘Punjabi Tadka’ will be there as all major Punjabi delicacies will be served. Apart from this, we are going to experiment with new concepts like serving the food via conveyor belts,” said Chodha brothers while talking to The Tribune.
