Kapil Sharma pays tribute to CRPF soldiers and Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra joined in with him. Kapil Sharma Show had recently come under fire after Navjot Singh Sidhu's comments after Pulwama Attack
Kapil Sharma invited CRPF soldiers in his show. He always invites major celebrities for their film promotions and for hilarious chat sessions. This time he invited CRPF Jawans and also invited Parineeti Chopra and Akshay Kumar to appear on the show. Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra are currently promoting their film Kesari which is set to release by March 21, 2019.
On February 14th, a van laden with explosives had rammed into a CRPF convoy and it lead to the loss of 40 CRPF soldiers in Pulwama. Following the attack, Bollywood celebrities had banded together to help the CRPF Jawans with Bharat Ke Veer. Akshay himself had also been donating to the fund and he also rallied his followers on social media to contribute.
Kapil Sharma’s show had been under a lot of controversy following the Pulwama Attack because of co-host Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comments. Navjot Singh Sidhu had been caught in the line of fire and was asked to step down from the show following his comments about the Pulwama Attack.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comments regarding Pulwama were, “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have a religion. There are good, bad and ugly. Every institution has them and every nation has them. The ugly needs to be punished. Individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.” He was also replaced by Archana Puran Singh post his comments.
Later Kapil Sharma had defended Navjot Singh Sidhu saying, “I think there should be a proper solution,” said Kapil Sharma speaking about sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu. “Ban them, ban this. These are small things. Please tell me if by sacking Sidhu Ji, it is going to solve the problem. If that would have really solved the problem then Sidhu Ji is smart enough to leave the show on his own. People are being misled as hashtags are run like Boycott Kapil Sharma or Boycott Sidhu. Mudday ki baat karo!” Kapil demanded. “Youth are being misled,” he reiterated.
