Kangana Ranaut Opts Out of Anurag Basu's Film. Here's Why
Kangana Ranaut had made her debut with Anurag Basu, but she is no longer working with him and this is the reason
Kangana Ranaut had made her debut in 2006 in Anurag Basu's Gangster opposite Emraan Hashmi. This was the film that launched her Bollywood career and fetched her a lot of acclaim. She then worked with him in Life in a... Metro, another film that was a hit. Recently, it was announced that Kangana and Anurag would be working for the third time together. Unfortunately, that is no longer happening. And for a change, Kangana is not creating any controversy here!
According to IANS, Kangana Ranaut has moved on from the project to focus on her directorial venture. After Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Kangana is working on three films - Mental Hai Kya, Panga and the Jayalalithaa biopic. She is also doing the background work for her next directorial venture - a biopic on her own life! Naturally, this does not leave her with much dates or time to give Anurag. "She didn't walk out. We were supposed to start the film last November. But then Manikarnika's schedule got changed. Then I got busy with my current film, and then she got busy with Panga. It started a never-ending dynamo of confusion on dates."
Anurag said that he is still longing to work with Kangana all over again. "But we are destined to work together again. I'm sure it will happen sooner or later," added the filmmaker.
Kangana's last film Manikarnika was a hit but it was mired in controversies with the original director Krish walking out of the project and the actress taking it over. This also led to a war of words between the director and Kangana.
