"Fire and ice," noted another, comparing Madhuri's fiery avatar to Alia's cool white one.
Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur's fandoms were excited. "Twinning and how!" said one fan.
Sharing Sonakshi's crying screengrabs, one user said, "We will cry oh WE will cry!" and it's hard to tell if it is due to excitement or worry at seeing their favorite stars in such sad situations onscreen.
Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt's collective pairing also had people freaking out. "Madhuri and Sanjay have a scene together omg!" said a fan.
One user had a rather tongue-in-cheek remark to give to Kalank's teaser. They claimed it was a mixture of Padmaavat, Baahubali, Devdas and Bajirao Mastani.
Another user defended Karan Johar's 'nepotism' with a picture of Alia and Varun saying “if you still see nepotism in them, lanat hai tum pe. I will stick by my word that varun dawan and aliaa bhatt was, is and will always be the best result of KJO's nepotism.”

Kalank is set to release on April 18th and is known to be one of Karan Johar’s late father’s dreams to make this film with Shah Rukh Khan. However, as luck and life would have it, Shah Rukh Khan’s role as Zafar is now being played by Varun Dhawan.
Years ago, @karanjohar told me the story of #Kalank It sounded spectacular & I looked forward to @iamsrk with khol-rimmed eyes. I don’t know how much it has changed but this looks special & @Varun_dvn seems to have filled those very large shoes well! https://t.co/Gh3ZJtlUYC— Anupama Chopra (@anupamachopra) March 12, 2019
