Still from Kalank

If Alia Bhatt’s look as Roop in Kalank hasn’t already charmed her fans, the actress is ready to captivate the audience with her dance moves. Alia took to her official Instagram handle to share a picture and teaser of Ghar More Pardesiya - the first song from Kalank to be released tomorrow.

“A song that gave me sleepless nights, days & months is coming very very soon.. I think you can safely say that I have never been SO nervous for anything in my life. You may have to send a search party to find me. Meanwhile, watch this space for more..,” she captioned the photo.

The picture shows Alia dressed in a white lehenga (skirt) with a dupatta (scarf) over her head. The picture is framed with large, bright yellow curtains and she is surrounded by men.

On Sunday afternoon, Alia's Kalank co-star Varun Dhawan shared a teaser video on Twitter, giving us a sneak peek of the song and wrote: "The first song of Kalank, Ghar More Pardesiya is out tomorrow. Get ready to witness this spectacle tomorrow and the introduction of where Zafar has grown up."

Music composer Pritam took to his Twitter handle on Saturday night and wrote, “Working on the finishing touches on the sound for the first song of #kalank and @aliaa08 has killed it with her kathak moves.”

This marks Alia Bhatt’s ninth movie with Dharma Productions. At the teaser launch of the film, Alia got emotional while talking about working in the film, “Kalank is an unbelievable journey. It is an honour to be a part of such a great cast. The film’s director Abhishek Varman is a very dear friend, and we all have put in a lot of hard work for this one.”

Along with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, the film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. It is directed by Abhishek Varman of 2 States and Kalank is Karan Johar’s dream project. It was something him and his father Yash Johar had conceptualised fifteen years ago.

“Kalank has been an emotional journey for me. It is a gem of an idea that I had nearly 15 years ago and a film that was in a pre-production stage helmed by my father. I am now proud to pass it onto the extremely capable and visionary hands of director Abhishek Varman. Kalank has a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek”, Karan has said earlier.

Kalank is slated to release on April 17.
