Junoon in the UAE: Pakistani Band Set to Take Centre Stage at Global Village
Junoon is all set to make its way to Global Village for a live concert on Friday, March 20, where they will be playing alongside other local as well as foreign acts. We cannot wait!
Pakistani band Junoon won the hearts of its UAE fans when it played in Dubai’s Duty Free Tennis Stadium on 18 January last year, as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, which ran until February 2, 2019. The trio of Salman Ahmad, Ali Azmat and Brian O’ Connell treated their followers to a special performance, singing the tunes of their all-time hits and melodies. The troupe has now announced its return to the Gulf emirate, promising it to be a bigger and better experience. The members are all set to make their way to Global Village for a live concert on Friday, March 20, where they will be playing alongside other local as well as foreign acts.
Junoon The Band
Junoon reunited in 2018, following a 13-year-long break. With the band’s founder and songwriter Salman on the guitar, Ali as the vocalist and Brian on bass guitar, they will sing fan favourite singles including Sayonee, Yaar Bina Dil, Sajna and Tara Jala at Global Village. The announcement of Junoon’s live concert at one of the world’s leading multicultural festival parks reinforces Global Village’s reputation for bringing international entertainment centre stage.
Junoon The Band
One of the most promising music groups to hail from Pakistan, Junoon conquered music charts in the 1990s and early 2000s with a string of chartbuster albums such as Inquilaab, Azadi and Parvaaz. Global Village guests can experience Junoon live as part of Global Village’s complimentary live weekly concert series. Entry is included in the festival park’s Dh15 ticket. In 1995, the band released their first compilation album, Kashmakash, which is the first such compilation album by a band in Pakistan. It was in the same year that Junoon's manager, Shehryar Ahmad, set up Junoon's website, which was the first ever website of any Pakistani music group. We cannot wait for Junoon to set the stage on fire next month!
