In a rapidly-developing case involving a ferocious ownership tussle between actor-producer John Abraham and Prernaa Arora over the film Parmanu, Prernaa has now filed an First Information Report(FIR) against John and his production company.
The FIR has been registered by Khar Police Station against John Abraham and his company JA Ent after a criminal complaint was filed by Kriarj Entertainment alleging various criminal offences including cheating, breach of trust, fraud, misappropriation of funds and copyright infringement. KriArj Entertainment say they were duped of crores of rupees invested by them towards the production of the film Parmanu.
Prernaa Arora explained, “I was never interested in turning this dispute into a legal or a public issue. But he(John Abraham) gave me no choice. I can’t even begin to explain how much emotional stress this is causing me. I’ve been so disturbed. As it is, this year started with my dear friend Irrfan Sir’s sudden illness. It shook all of us, and not only because he is the hero of my production that Vishal Bhardwaj Sir is directing. Irrfan Sir’s illness reminded us of the unpredictability of life . One minute everything is fine. The next minute it’s all gone. Is it worthwhile to waste precious energy and time over such ugly disputes?”
However, Prernaa is still belligerent and is not backing down from the fight.
On his part, John Abraham is aware that the fight is being fought in the media but he seemed bothered. In an interview to peepingmoon.com, “This mud-slinging on a public platform will only hurt their case,” John said. “I want them to go to court because I am fighting for my credibility.”
