John Abraham and Anil Kapoor’s Pagalpanti: Check Out Audience Reactions to this New Comedy Flick

Pagalpanti stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Ileane D’Cruz and several other stars. The comedy film has been directed by Anees Bazmee.

Anees Bazmee directorial Pagalpanti -- which boasts an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Urvashi Rautela, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Saurabh Shukla -- was releaed on Friday, 22nd November. The comedy film follows the story of three men -- who are considered ‘losers’ by people around them -- and their plans to get rich quickly. The film has drawn a mixed reaction from the audience. Here’s how cine-goers reviewed the film on social media:
Sohail Khan (@ItsSohailKhan) tweeted, “#Pagalpanti One word review: TORTURE What a crap i just watched. It's a complete piece of Trash!! Poor script, No story, Confused screenplay, only overacting by all the stars. 1*/5* Stay away from this shit!!”

Abhishek Parihar (@BlogDrive) compared it with Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4, saying, “And those Fans who loved #Housefull4 but hated #Pagalpanti You just made Irony committ suicide. While H4 might have collected 192 crore but Pagalpanti is still better then H4. PS: Both are very bad films.”

Samarth (@kumarsamarth33) wrote, “#Pagalpanti has its moments but otherwise is a torture!! Difficult to digest that it's directed by @BazmeeAnees .... Disappointed. Expected the film to be better than the trailer but it's even more worse .. I believe #housefull4 was much better than this . Unnecessary patriotism.”

Shubham (@shubham086) was also disappointed and tweeted, “Worst movie of my life the boring 3hours. #PagalpantiReview”

Amrita Tanna (@Amr1ta) wrote, “#PagalpantiReview: The film falls COMPLETELY flat. This includes both reworked songs & a plot which doesn't make sense in the most part. I think nonsensical films are dying out, with the exception of a few. Don't waste your money/time on this one! If you do, you'll regret!”

Bhavna Kant (@bhavna_kant) tweeted, “#Pagalpanti is such shocker! How cud #AneesBazmee mess it up so much?! Slapstick, illogical madcap cud still work but there’s something called script, continuity, sequencing, which was completely overlooked. He took the title too seriously & audience too lightly!#PagalpantiReview.”

NAVEEN (@officialnav1904) enjoyed the movie and said, “And please don’t listen to these so called critics who are just bad mouthing the film because they didn’t like it...go and watch #Pagalpanti and have a mad fun weekend..#PagalpantiReview.”

RajaRahul (@Rajarahulsingh) was also appreciative and wrote, “#PagalpantiReview - Entertainer- 1/2 Average but comedy dose is full lack of story but who needs when a movie can laugh someone. #JohnAbraham @ArshadWarsi @AnilKapoor has nailed it and other actors have done a decent job. One time watch s you But a good one.”

Tejas (@Cinema_Tech_) gave it 3 stars and tweeted, “#PagalpantiReview This film is a stress buster. @AnilKapoor and @ArshadWarsi are always the best in Comedy. The other co-stars also have put in weight to the movie. This film has a bit of "Welcome (2007) " vibes in it. Overall It's a laughter riot.”

Pagalpanti’s reviews by the media have also been largely mixed to negative. Ambica Sachin wrote in the Khaleej Times, “There is a lot of slapstick comedy to make you laugh out loud. Though admittedly, the laughs are a bit slow in coming and far in between. But like the makers and the lead cast had repeatedly said, if you just go to watch the movie as a mindless comedy, you are bound to enjoy it.” Jyoti Sharma Bawa, writing for the Hindustan Times, said, “What Pagalpanti lacks in quality, it attempts to fill in with sheer quantity. It throws everything it has at you. There are songs so unnecessary that they need exposition; three lions run amok in a scene and are so bored with what is happening that they seem to be pining for their cages; there is a ghost who likes to dance to recycled 90s songs in colourful negligees, and not one good joke in all of it put together!” Critics have also highlighted how the movie tries to force-feed the audience with patriotic messages and completely fails in this respect.
