Janhvi Kapoor Calls Prominent Pakistani Daily Article as “Propagandist” After The Pulwama Attack

Janhvi Kapoor takes to Instagram to post a picture of a Pakistani daily paper and calls it propagandist in its reportage

On February 14th, forty-nine CPRF personnel were killed by a suicide bomber who rammed his explosives-laden van into a CPRF convoy. Condemnations and anger poured in from Bollywood celebrities and A-listers as they took to their social media to express solidarity with the soldiers.

Dhadak actress Janhvi Kapoor posted on her Instagram a picture of the attack and a screenshot of a Pakistani daily, “The Nation”. The headline on “The Nation” read, “Freedom fighter launches an attack, 44 of occupying force killed in IOK”.

“The reasons to be angered and hurt are plenty,” wrote Janhvi. “The one that upsets me the most is that our men didn’t even get the chance to fight for themselves. The second photo is of a propagandist article that is celebrating this terrorist attack as a fight for freedom.”

The Pakistani daily was reporting via news agencies and said that, “The Indian government tried to give the incident terrorism colour claiming that Pakistan based Jaish e Muhammad was behind it but the JeM was quick to trash the statement of Indian foreign ministry saying New Delhi was trying to take the credit from the valiant Kashmir youth. ‘JeM has nothing to do with it,’ a Jaish spokesman added.”

“It’s tragic and responsible,” Janhvi continued, “that the truths of such a condemnable act are being distorted by the media to suit their political agendas. These men have been robbed of not just their lives but also the respect that they deserve as protectors of the nation. Let’s pray for the souls of our brave men and for the strength of the families. Jai Hind.”
