Jackie Shroff on Working With Tiger Shroff: ‘I Can’t Explain the Feeling in Words’
Jackie Shroff has never worked with son Tiger Shroff but that is about to change
When Tiger Shroff was ready to make his debut, producer Sajid Nadiadwala had offered him a remake of Subhash Ghai’s Hero, the film that had launched Jackie’s career into stardom. Tiger humbly declined the tempting offer. He had told me, “How can I do my father’s film, and that too his most iconic film? Dad’s fans will kill me with the unflattering comparisons.” Until last year, Tiger had even refused to share screen space with his father arguing he needed to become far more confident about his abilities before agreeing to work with him.
Now Tiger has finally faced the camera with his father. In what can be considered a historic move Jackie Shroff and his son Tiger will share screen space as father and son in Baaghi 3. Speaking on the experience of working with his son, Jackie says, “I can’t explain the feeling in words. When I saw how sincerely my son performed I felt complete as a human being and as a parent. This is the first time I watched my son at work. Believe me, I was never even half as focused and dedicated as he is.”
Tiger Shroff is a big fan of his father Jackie Shroff. He has watched all his Dad’s film, some of them repeatedly. “My favourite was Shiva Ka Insaaf where my Dad played a super-hero in 3D.As a child I used to watch that film on a video cassette over and over again until I knew every word of dialogue.”
Now Tiger has another favourite. “I love his role in Bharat. It’s so much like his real life, passionate and all heart, would do anything for family.” Tiger loved the film, Salman and his father in Bharat.
