Jackie Shroff started his career with Subash Ghai's 1983 blockbuster, Hero. Buzz is that Jackie will essay the role of the villian in Nikhil Advani's remake.

Jackie will essay the role of Pasha, originally played by Amrish Puri. Apparently, Jackie was brought in to the project after Salman Khan, the producer of the movie, felt that the remake would be incomplete without Jaggu Dada.

Once the details were finalised, Salman's office contacted Jackie and the actor came on board immediately. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Nikhil (director) loved Salman's idea. Jackie has allotted 20 days to shoot for the movie. A source added, “Jackie is close to both Ghai and Salman. It will be nostalgic for him to act in the remake of a film which established him as a star in Bollywood.

The film marks the debut of Suraj Pancholi (Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab's son) and Athiya Shetty (Sunil and Mana Shetty's daughter) and stars Govinda and Vinod Khanna in important roles.
