So it’s true. Shah Rukh Khan has permanently walked out of Don 3. Earlier, there were rumours swirling that Ranveer Singh had replaced Shah Rukh as Don but these were quickly refuted. However, in a twist of events, Shah Rukh is reported to have ended his association with the franchise as he felt the film might not be suitable to him.
A source informed that Shah Rukh Khan took a lot of time consulting people close to him about the script in the movie and weighed the pros and cons. "This is a bit unusual for Shah Rukh Khan because he is usually sure of what he is doing. He never goes beyond a few people who he trusts regarding the script. This detailed calculation of pros and cons have never come up before," the source said.
The source further added that Shah Rukh then called up the Ritesh Sidhwani and informed him that he might not be able to work in the film. With this walkout, there are no Shah Rukh Khan films in the making. It is also on record that Shah Rukh Khan hasn't signed any new film since the debacle of Zero. Shah Rukh Khan has also put the same on record during his interaction with the Chinese media recently.
It is now being heard that the latest actor who's considering the script of Don 3 is indeed Ranveer Singh. He is currently reading the script. Sources say that though he has conveyed that he likes what he is reading but he hasn't said yes to the project till now.
Shah Rukh hasn’t had much luck at the box-office of late. His recent films from Jab Harry Met Sejal to Zero met with a bad response at the box-office. In fact Shah Rukh has had several huge flops in his career but this is probably the first time that he has been forced to introspect so heavily.
