Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj Pancholi who is awaiting the release of his first Bollywood film Hero, may have moved on from an exceedingly devastating phase in his life following the suicide of his then girlfriend Jiah Khan. However, with the upcoming release and their lives contantly under the media scanner the film's lead pair Sooraj and Athiya Shetty once again find their personal lives thoroughly scrutinised. While Athiya has more or less maintained a low profile, Sooraj unfortunately will have a tougher task of shirking the media's interest, given that his name was mired in the controversy surrounding Jiah's death.

The young actor has however decided to face his demons and chosen to open up about Jiah. In an interview to Indian Express, Sooraj spoke about his relationship. When asked if he wished for a clean slate to start his career, to that he said, “It was in nobody’s control. People didn’t realize that I had lost someone. I lost my girlfriend (Jiah) who I was seeing for the past few months and I was really upset. But I think it was destiny and it was written in book of life. People ask me what have I learnt from it. I don’t think of it as a lesson because I have not committed any mistake. There is nothing to learn from it. It was in nobody’s control and perhaps was meant to happen.”

Speaking of what helped him through it, he added, “My will power and the fact that I am not guilty. Had I been guilty, then deep inside I would have been broken. But I know what the scenario was and I know that I am not guilty. That is what pulled me through.”
