Ishaan Khatter Pens Nostalgic Note as Dhadak Reaches its One Year Anniversary

Dhadak was a special film for both Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor and the film is approaching its one year anniversary. To mark the occasion, Ishaan Khatter took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt note

When talented filmmaker Karan Johar announced that he would be remaking a Marathi hit film, Sairat, fans of the movie were hardly ecstatic. Nagraj Manjule's film about two star-crossed lovers from opposite ends of the caste was not expected to create much buzz. However, when Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor were roped in for the film, they managed to create a buzz by aggressively promoting their film which came to be known as Dhadak. Their stellar performances in the film too stunned audiences, especially considering the two were new entrants into the world of showbiz.

The Shashank Khaitan directorial, Dhadak, just approached its one year anniversary since it hit screens on July 20, 2018. Both Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor have an emotional attachment to the film and hold it very dear. As the film completes one year, the lead actor of the film, Ishaan got all nostalgic and shared a series of pictures on his Instagram. If the pictures are anything to go by, they appear to be from the sets of Dhadak when Janhvi and Ishaan were shooting for it. In the same post, Ishaan also mentioned the names of his mentor, Karan Johar and Shashank and thanked them for filling his memories with something this soothing. The film was also a special one for Janhvi as it made it to the theatres after the death of her mother, Sridevi.

“Tomorrow marks one year of the theatrical release of Dhadak. Major nostalgia ensues and will continue for the next few hours, Ishaan penned in his note. “Thank you to @karanjohar @shashankkhaitan @janhvikapoor who have etched themselves into my life and my most prized memories forever.. and to the entire cast and crew without whom our film’s heart would not beat as it did,” he went on to add.

In an earlier interview with an online portal, Ishaan explained how his life changed after Dhadak. "The film brought a positive change in my life by bringing me together with some very special people," Ishaan told the portal.  "As for my professional life, more people have seen my work and hopefully that will have a positive effect on the opportunities I receive in the future," he added.
