Ishaan Khattar's Father Speaks up For Karan Johar Who is Being Blamed For Nepotism Again
Will this debate ever end?
The announcement of a debut that has created quite a frenzy is that of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar’s. Karan Johar’s film, Dhadak, a remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Sairat, will have both the young stars romancing each other. If the recently released posters are anything to go by, then the film is going to be something to really look forward to.
Much to no one’s surprise, another topic of discussion has risen from the announcement of Dhahak and it seems to revisit the old debate of Nepotism. Bollywood stars have been divided on their opinion about Nepotism, with some siding it and others not. However, the topic seemed to have eventually silenced, until now! The Nepotism debate that sparked off on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan, has gone on to circle around him in his newest venture too. He is now being blamed about launching another star kid, Janhvi along with propelling the young star Ishaan’s career.
While the debate doesn’t look like its nearing its end anytime soon, Ishaan’s father, Rajesh Khatter has now come out in support of the producer and said that Ishaan is being targetted for being Shahid’s brother. He told DNA, “It’s not as if Karan was compelled to take Ishaan! He is going by the subject and what he wants to project. The story is about youngsters in the 18-21-year-old age bracket and he wanted actors with no image, which is why he chose them. Social media is great to reach out if you have something to convey or share, but unfortunately, it has become an open defecation ground for trolls, where people want to dump their shit on anyone they fancy. It is not like those with no connections to the industry are not getting a break. Look at Rajkummar Rao. Was nepotism applicable in Shahid’s case? His parents – Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azim – were not huge stars. He made his way up. Today, they are targetting Ishaan for being Shahid’s brother.”
