Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan is as talented as her father. The two shared a close bond and she luckily has him around for all the professional advice she needs. While she is not ready to foray into acting just as yet, Ira has taken the plunge into directing projects, with her first one being an upcoming play titled Medea. The Greek production will mark her directorial debut. According to Ira, she is not too fond of acting because she is camera shy and finds directing and producing to be more interesting. While talking to Bombay Times, the 22-year-old expressed her desire to direct her superstar father sometime soon.
“Maybe someday, when I have a better understanding of the craft, I will direct my father. Working with somebody you know personally can be complicated and that’s not specifically for my dad but applies to everyone. I want to be sure of myself before I work with my dad because he is really well-read, like everybody else in the family,” she said.
Iran continued that when she is sure about herself, she will consider directing the Dangal star. “So, when I’m sure about myself, I will think about directing him,” he stated. Ira also revealed that she and Aamir share a common personality trait – the both are control freaks! “Once we are given a project, we completely focus on it and forget everything else.” While she is busy with Medea, Aamir is swamped with a hectic work schedule too due to the shooting of Laal Singh Chaddha. The actor reunites with Bollywood Bebo Kareena Kapoor Khan for the film. Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi remake of the Tom Hanks Hollywood-starrer Forrest Grump. It is being directed by Aamir’s Secret Superstar filmmaker Advait Chauhan and the film releases on Christmas 2020.
